An essay on the Taiji Quan Lun (attributed to its legendary creator Zhang San Feng 张三丰)
There can not be deficiency or excess, peaks or lows; there can be no interruption.
Coordination is not enough, the movement of all parts needs to be harmonized
Nerve impulses must animate each body part evenly, no part can be animated differently to any other. It is not enough to move each body part; it must be harmonized all at the same speed and amplitude. Consequently no part is physically forward or behind, no part moves before or after another. There cannot be a break in the nerve impulses; we cannot afford momentarily to forget one of the body parts.
